Using the medium of charcoal, artist Sharon Kelly responds to the music and lyrics of "Rescue Me" by Irish Celtic Rock Band Horslips.
A stop motion animation using charcoal, inspired by explorations on the theme of 'pattern' and created as part of an online primary school residency project, Virtually There (organised by Kid's Own Publishing Partnership, Sligo, Ireland). The artist worked with P2 & 3 children and their teacher at St Patrick's Primary School Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, Northern Ireland to explore their playground. The ideas for the animation came out of the online connection images and sounds that the artist saw and heard of the children in their playground via FaceTime using an ipad. The original photos and drawings were created by Belfast-based artist Sharon Kelly and the animation was edited by London-based artist Matthew Hindle. The Virtually There Project can be accessed
